Grip Services
Professional grip crews and equipment for camera and lighting support across Thailand.
Here is how this works in practice. Grip kit services give the mechanical support hardware and rigging that shapes light and positions cameras on set. In Thailand, grip teams work across Bangkok's production facilities and on location from tropical beaches to jungle interiors, using specialized rigging suited to Thailand's varied terrain and conditions.
Here is the short of it. We source grip kit and skilled grip crews through Bangkok-based rental houses like VGI Film and Kantana Group, setting up with your key grip's specs to make sure reliable operation in tropical heat and humidity.

On Location
Our key grips and grip packages support productions across Thailand — dollies and track on Bangkok stages, cranes over temple courtyards, and rugged rigging for island, beach and jungle units.
Here is how this works in practice. We give grip kit and key-grip-led crews in Thailand drawn from a mature, Bangkok-centred industry that supplies dollies, track, jib arms, cranes, sliders, camera support and the full range of rigging and stands in depth. Thailand's big rental houses keep packages competitively priced and quick to assemble. Our key grips spec gear to the camera and lighting plan so movement, mounts and safety are set up across departments.
Here is the short of it. The tropical climate is a constant factor: humidity and heat demand care with track levelling on soft ground, sandbag discipline in coastal wind and rain cover for kit during the southwest monsoon from June to October. For shoots that move from a controlled Bangkok stage to a Railay beach or a Chiang Mai forest interior, our grips plan transport, terrain access and rigging points on the tech scout, building dependable camera support whether the sites is a polished studio floor or a remote location with tight car access.
Here is the breakdown. Thailand's locations put real demands on the grip department, and reward a well-resourced one. Bangkok delivers stage floors and city streets suited to dolly and crane work. The temple precincts of the Grand Palace, Wat Arun and the UNESCO cities of Ayutthaya and Sukhothai call for careful, low-impact rigging. And the Andaman coast, the Phi Phi Islands and the northern mountains need grip kit that travels and performs on sand, rock and jungle terrain. Productions ranging from action films in the 'Rambo' custom to high-end commercials rely on this skill.
Here is what that looks like on the ground. Filming needs a permit from the Thailand Film Office, with a state coordinator ready for provincial liaison, and rigging at heritage and royal sites must respect their covered status. With ATA carnets accepted, deep local rental stock and a cash rebates of up to 30% on qualifying Thai spend, shoots source their grip package within Thailand rather than shipping gear in.
FAQ
Our Grip Network
What does a grip department do?
Here is the breakdown. The grip department supports both camera and lighting. They operate dollies, cranes, and camera support gear for camera moves. They also handle all non-electrical lighting support: stands, rigging, diffusion frames, flags, and bounce/negative fill.
What positions are in a grip department?
Key Grip leads the department and works closely with the gaffer and DP. Best Boy Grip manages gear and logistics. Dolly Grip operates camera dollies. Company Grips handle general grip work. Rigging Grips focus on pre-rigging and construction.
When do I need a grip vs. an electrician?
Electricians handle anything electrical—lights, power distribution, cables. Grips handle physical support and rigging—stands, camera movement gear, flags, diffusion frames. The gaffer supervises electrics. The key grip supervises grip.
What equipment is included in grip packages?
Grip packages mostly have C-stands, flags, nets, silks, bounce boards, apple boxes, sandbags, clamps, and basic rigging. Dollies, cranes, and specialty gear are mostly extra items quoted separately.
Do your grips have rigging certifications?
Yes. Our rigging grips hold appropriate certifications for overhead work, truss systems, and safety rigging. Complex rigging work is supervised by certified rigging supervisors meeting industry safety needs.
Can you provide grip trucks with equipment?
We set up complete grip truck packages through our rental partners. These have the truck, driver, and full grip kit. Crew is booked separately based on your production's needs.
