Color Grading

Here is how this works in practice. We set up creative grading through Bangkok's set up post-prod community, where calibrated grading suites and skilled colourists serve Thailand's big feature, series and TVC industry. Our team prepares your media and reference material, then works a colourist through look development on key scenes before applying the chosen grade always across the project. Bangkok suites run DaVinci Resolve Studio with calibrated reference displays. Colourists are also fluent in Baselight and FilmLight workflows.

Here is the short of it. We grade HDR natively on calibrated HDR monitors and create SDR trim passes, supporting HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and HLG delivery. Remote grading sessions over calibrated streaming let directors and DoPs abroad work with in real time, giving feedback as the colourist works. Because the city's post sector is deep and competitively priced, shoots get theatrical-grade creative grading on schedules that suit both features and the fast turnarounds of commercial work, with masters prepared for each needed format.

Here is the breakdown. Thailand gives a grade extraordinary raw material to interpret. The saturated gold of a wat, the turquoise water and white limestone of Maya Bay and the Phi Phi Islands, the neon density of Yaowarat in Bangkok's Chinatown, and the misty greens of Doi Inthanon all carry strong inherent colour that a grade can heighten or restrain.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Thai cinema has a distinctive visual culture, from the dreamlike palette of Palme d'Or winner Apichatpong Weerasethakul to the polished looks of studio GDH, and Bangkok colourists know how to serve both stylised and naturalistic intent. Global shoots that shot here, such as series filmed across Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok, often grade in the capital to keep the look close to the locations. For foreign shoots, grading in Bangkok adds to qualifying Thai expenditure under the Thailand Film Office cash rebates of up to 30 percent.
